Kevin Sanders is a freelance photographer based in the greater Des Moines area taking assignments in central Iowa as well as all four corners of the state. Fully digital and fully mobile, he is able to work on assignment at a moment’s notice.

Trusted by the world’s foremost newsgathering agencies such as The Associated Press and Reuters, he is able to provide timely and impacting pictures from any event, whether it’s breaking news, sports or any other event.

With experience ranging from presidential campaigns to Olympic trials, natural disasters to aerial photography, you can expect to get your pictures when you depend on them. He also accepts corporate assignments for your company or government organization, large or small.

Kevin's work has been published in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Newsweek, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Des Moines Register and CNN, and other outlets.

His photojournalism career began at a small college in Des Moines. At Grand View University, he wore many hats on the campus newspaper, The Grand Views, as staff photographer, staff writer, photo editor, online editor and sports editor. Kevin's well-rounded education in communication including public relations allows him to provide clients exceptional service to clients in any industry.

While still in college, he interned at the Dickinson County News in Spirit Lake in 2005 and then interned at the Des Moines Register from 2005-2006. In 2005, Kevin began following the 2008 presidential campaign from pre-candidacy to the leadup of the Iowa caucuses and into the regular election season.

Kevin is a member of the National Press Photographers Association, and he strongly adheres to the NPPA’s Code of Ethics.

Born and raised in Des Moines, Kevin has a certain appreciation for sweet corn, thunderstorms, corn dogs and the Iowa Pork Queen.
